My personal wish for each visitor is to gain a new appreciation for the Rio Grande Valley.  My late husband and I immediately fell in love with El Rocio.  My dream is that you can discover the same magic.  Opening this property for your visit reinforces my personal philosophy, "Share the gifts I have been blessed to possess.  Welcome to this sacred space.  Respect this land and renew your spirit." El Rocio Retreat is a unique 18-acre property located outside the city limits of Mission, Texas.  It was built several years ago by Mr. Craig Morton and later sold to Marsha and Michael Gamel, M.D. in 1995.  The main home (Casa de Luna) is nestled in its natural surrounding. In fact, there is the "Tree of Life" which helps support the house.  In the summer of 2004, a new addition was created to El Rocio.  A 2000 sq. ft. meeting room (Casa Del Sol) was built nestled within the surrounding habitat.  Wildlife such as bobcats, raccoons, green jays, roadrunners, hawks, javelinas, chachalacas and different varieties of butterflies can be seen in their natural habitat.
